Dragonfly
Dragonflies are fascinating creatures, and this particular one is a Four Stopped Chaser Dragonfly that has been encased in resin. Scientifically known as Libellula quadrimaculata, adult dragonflies are easily recognized by their large, multifaceted compound eyes, two pairs of strong, transparent wings, and elongated bodies. Fossils of large dragonfly-like insects, known as griffin flies, have been found dating back to around 325 million years ago. These ancient creatures had wingspans of up to 30 inches.
